The Pelicans lost their best players as well as their home opener on Sunday night and then on Monday, they announced Brandon Ingram has entered the concussion protocol. There is no timetable announced for Ingram’s return and it remained unclear whether Zion Williamson would be available when the Pelicans host the Dallas Mavericks. Even with them missing some of their top players, the Pelicans fought back from a 17-point 4th-quarter deficit and were one defensive stop from remaining unbeaten through 3 games this season, but Kelly Olynyk’s bucket with just 3 seconds left in overtime helped Utah get the win. The Mavericks jumped off in their home opener Saturday with a 39-17 lead after 1 quarter and rolled to a 137-96 victory over Memphis. Luka Doncic scored or assisted Dallas’ first 20 points and he finished with 32 points, 10 assists and 7 rebounds. The Mavericks improved on maintaining a big lead compared to their season opener, when they blew a 22-point lead and lost to the Suns, 107-105. The Mavs will look to keep it rolling against the Pelicans.

🏀The Mavericks are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games playing on 2 days rest.

🏀The Mavericks are 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings.

🏀The Mavericks are 5-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings in New Orleans.

🏀The Over is 11-4 in the last 15 meetings in New Orleans.

7:00 PM New Jersey Devils @ Detroit Red Wings

Devils: -115
Red Wings
: -105
Total
: 6.5

The Red Wings’ special teams have had a great start to the season and they will try to maintain its momentum against the New Jersey Devils. The Red Wings have not allowed a power play goal in their first 5 games and they have yet to suffer a regulation loss. In their 5-1 victory over Anaheim they also prevented a goal when the Ducks had a two-man advantage in the 1st period. Detroit took advantage of its power plays on Sunday, scoring 3 times with the advantage. Detroit was 27th in power play goals scored last season and gave up the 4th-most power play goals. The Red Wings have already beaten New Jersey this season and Larkin had a goal and two assists in Detroit’s 5-2 road victory on Oct. 15. Tyler Bertuzzi suffered an upper-body injury in that game, which will keep him out of this one though. The Wings are also playing without 2 of their other top forwards. The Devils 3-game winning streak ended against visiting Washington on Monday when they gave up 4 goals in the 2nd period in the 6-3 loss.

🏒The Red Wings are 3-8 in their last 11 home games.

🏒The Red Wings are 18-40 in their last 58 games following a win.

🏒The Red Wings are 26-65 in their last 91 vs. a team with a winning record.

The Bookie: Devils -115
