Seton Hall Pirates vs Providence Friars – NCAA College Basketball Prediction

7:00 p.m. ET: Seton Hall Pirates (9-1) at Providence Friars (11-1)

Spread: Providence PK
Total: 139

The #15 Seton Hall Pirates will finally start its Big East schedule on the road at #21 Providence. The Pirates (9-1, 0-0 Big East) were one of many Division I teams to have COVID-19 alter their plans this month. While the program dealt with the spread of the virus, a non-conference game against Iona was called off and Big East matchups against St. John’s and DePaul were postponed. Providence (11-1, 1-0) will be somewhat fresher, though Georgetown had to postpone its meeting with Providence last week due to COVID-19. The Friars previously opened their Big East schedule on Dec. 18 with a 57-53 road win over then-#20 UConn.  Seton Hall has been great on both ends of the court this season as the Pirates currently ranked 37th in scoring offense and 55th in scoring defense. The public is giving a lot of love to the Friars in this one after their recent big win over UConn but Seton Hall is the much more talented team here. This should be a close game until the finish but Seton Hall should be able to pull off the win. Take the Pirates in this one.

Trends

  • The Friars are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall.
  • The Under is 5-0 in Pirates’ last 5 road games.
  • The Pirates are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games vs. a team with a winning record.
