Philadelphia Phillies vs Miami Marlins – MLB Baseball Prediction

7:10 p.m. ET: Philadelphia Phillies (81-78) at Miami Marlins (65-94)

Odds: Phillies -115 / Marlins +105
Total:  7 -105 / -115

The Phillies (81-78) will enter Friday night on a four-game losing streak, and they have a losing record on the road (34-44). The Marlins (65-94) are tied for last place in the NL East with the Washington Nationals. However, Miami has been solid at home this year, going 40-38. The Marlins will start their ace, right-hander Sandy Alcantara (9-14, 3.09 ERA), in the series opener on Friday. Philadelphia will start left-hander Ranger Suarez (7-5, 1.45 ERA). Suarez is 1-1 with a 4.70 ERA in 12 career games against the Marlins. In nine career starts against the Phillies, Alcantara is 5-3 with a 2.77 ERA. He is 1-2 with a 2.65 ERA in three games against the Phillies this year. This line opened with the Phillies -115 and the line is moving the opposite from where the public is putting its money. The Phillies were just swept in Atlanta to take them out of the playoffs and now they continue down to Miami after a major disappointment. This is a good letdown spot for the Phillies and since the Marlins are decent at home with their best pitcher, they have a good chance to get the win here. Take the Marlins today.

The Bookie:          Marlins +105 / Under 7 -115
Fade the Public:   Marlins / Under
