NCAA College Basketball Betting Analysis for March 11th

6:30 p.m. ET: Michigan St Spartans (21-11) vs Wisconsin Badgers (24-6)

Spread: Wisconsin -3
Total: 138

The Michigan State Spartans take on the Wisconsin Badgers in the 3rd round of the Big Ten Tournament. The Spartans will be looking for a third straight win. The Spartans are coming off a 76-72 win over Maryland and the Badgers are coming off a 74-73 loss to Nebraska. Wisconsin is averaging 71 points per game while allowing 66.5 on the defensive end. Michigan State is averaging 72 points per game while allowing 68.3 from opponents. The Spartans have not played well this season but this is the time of year Izzo has his boys ready. The Spartans already beat Wisconsin once this year on their home court by a score of 74-86 but also lost to them at home 62-70. Wisconsin’s Johnny Davis suffered an ankle injury against Nebraska but is expected to play in this one but if Davis isn’t at full strength we could see the Badger offense struggle. The public is jumping all over the Badgers driving the line up to -3 in this spot because of Michigan State’s mediocre season but there is sharp action bringing that line back down at some books. You can never count out Michigan State as long as Izzo is around. Look for the Spartans to keep this one close and possibly get the win. The underdog is 4-0 ATS in the last 4 meetings.

9:00 p.m. ET: Penn St. Nittany Lions (14-16) vs Purdue Boilermakers (25-6)

Spread: Purdue -8.5
Total: 135.5

Jalen Pickett and the Penn State Nittany Lions take on Jaden Ivey and the #9 Purdue Boilermakers in the Big Ten tournament. These teams meet for the 2nd time this season after Purdue won 74-67 in the last matchup on Jan. 8. Trevion Williams led Purdue with 21 points and Pickett led Penn State with 21 points. Purdue ranks 2nd in the Big Ten in rebounding with 35.1 rebounds and Penn State ranks 4th in the Big Ten with 25.2 defensive rebounds per game. Ivey is averaging 17.2 points for the Boilermakers and Pickett is shooting 41.6% and averaging 13.2 points for the Nittany Lions. Purdue will be a problem for Penn State with the size advantage down low with Edey and Williams. Penn State just came off a big upset win over Ohio State but the Buckeyes have been struggling late in the season so it wasn’t much of a surprise. Purdue will be a different challenge because they not only play defense but they have the offensive firepower that will be tough to match. Purdue has had several days to rest and reset after losing 2 of the last 3 and will be ready to unload on the Nittany Lions.

9:30 p.m. ET: Virginia Tech Hokies (21-12) vs North Carolina Tar Heels (24-8)

Spread: UNC -2
Total: 142.5

The Virginia Tech Hokies take on the #25 North Carolina Tar Heels after Keve Aluma scored 20 points in Virginia Tech’s 87-80 win over the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. These teams meet for the 3rd time this season. North Carolina won 78-68 at home in the first meeting and also won 65-57 in the last matchup on Feb. 19. Caleb Love led North Carolina with 21 points, and Aluma led Virginia Tech with 16 points. Bacot is scoring 16.4 points per game and averaging 12.4 rebounds for the Tar Heels and Mutts is averaging 10.3 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 3.4 assists for the Hokies. Both these teams come into this game playing well with the Hokies winning 5 of the last 6 and UNC winning 6 straight games. UNC has the offensive, defensive, rebounding, and free throw shooting advantages. UNC has been rolling over teams while the Hokies have been barely pulling off the wins. Take the better team overall and the team that is playing better right now with UNC as they look to keep it rolling in this one.
