NCAA College Basketball Betting Analysis for March 10th

12:00 p.m. ET: Syracuse Orange (16-16) vs Duke Blue Devils (26-5)

Spread: Duke -14.5
Total: 150.5

The Syracuse Orange play #7 Duke Blue Devils in the ACC tournament after Cole Swider scored 28 points in Syracuse’s 96-57 win over the Florida State Seminoles. These teams meet for the 3rd time this season. Duke won the first matchup 79-59 at home and also won 97-72 in the last matchup on Feb. 26 at Syracuse. Williams led the Blue Devils with 28 points, and Buddy Boeheim led the Orange with 23 points. Buddy Boeheim decided to take a cheap shot in the FSU game and will not be playing in this one. Syracuse rolled over FSU and would have a chance to stay in this game if Boeheim was playing but without him, their offense is going to struggle. Duke is coming off the bad home loss to UNC in Coach K’s final home game and Coach K is looking to win the ACC tournament in his final season. Duke has already rolled over Cuse twice this season and should be able to do it again in this spot. The favorite is 5-0-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings.

12:30 p.m. ET: TCU Horned Frogs (19-11) vs Texas Longhorns (21-10)

Spread: Texas -5
Total: 125.5

The #22 Texas Longhorns and TCU Horned Frogs square off in the Big 12 Tournament. These teams square off for the 3rd time this season after Texas won the first 2 meetings 50-73 at TCU and 75-66 at Texas. Marcus Carr is averaging 11 points and 3.2 assists for the Longhorns and Damion Baugh is averaging 10.6 points and 4.2 assists for the Horned Frogs. Texas ranks 13th in adjusted defensive efficiency while TCU ranks 23rd in adjusted defensive efficiency according to KenPom Rankings. TCU ranks 4th while Texas ranks 115th in rebounding rate. Both these teams come into this game losing their last 2 matchups however Texas’ losses were to Kansas and Baylor and TCU lost to Kansas and West Virginia. The Horned Frogs are in the bottom 25 in 3-point shooting and Texas has the advantage from the free-throw line where they are 50th in the nation making 75.3% compared to the Horned Frogs, who are 300th making just 67.7%. This should be a close game but expect Texas to come through late. The favorite is 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings.

2:00 p.m. ET: Northwestern Wildcats  (15-15) vs Iowa Hawkeyes (22-9)

Spread: Iowa -7.5
Total: 147.5

The #24 Iowa Hawkeyes play the Northwestern Wildcats in the 2nd round of the Big Ten tournament. These teams square off for the 2nd time this season after Iowa won the last meeting 82-61 on March 1. Murray scored 26 to help lead Iowa to the win, and Ty Berry scored 19 points for Northwestern. Murray is averaging 23.3 points, 8.6 rebounds and 2.1 blocks for the Hawkeyes and Nance is averaging 14.7 points and 6.6 rebounds for the Wildcats. Northwestern should have lost to Minnesota in the first round but they were able to come back in the 2nd half with a barrage of threes. Iowa is coming off a tough loss to Illinois which they should have won but poor free-throw shooting, especially at the end of the game led to a loss. Northwestern can’t match up with Murray and if the Hawkeyes are knocking down three’s then this game will be over quickly. Iowa has won 5 of the last 6 games while scoring over 80 points per game while dominating the offensive glass. Look for Iowa to come out strong to dominate and end the season for this Northwestern team. The favorite is 4-0 ATS in the last 4 meetings.

6:30 p.m. ET: Maryland Terrapins  (15-16) vs Michigan St Spartans (20-11)

Spread: Michigan St. -3
Total: 139.5

The Michigan State Spartans play in the 2nd round of the Big Ten Tournament against the Maryland Terrapins. These teams square off for the 3rd time this season. Michigan State won the first meeting 63-65 in Maryland and also won the last matchup 77-67 on March 6th at home. Malik Hall scored 17 to help lead Michigan State to the victory, and Eric Ayala scored 19 points for Maryland in that game. Michigan State is 4-1 when it wins the turnover battle and averages 13.1 turnovers per game. Maryland is 4-5 when it wins the turnover battle and averages 11.0 turnovers per game. Michigan State started the season well and it has been mostly downhill from there. Maryland has won 4 of the last 6 games with players like Fatts Russell taking over games. This game should be close until the end but with the way Maryland is playing right now, they have a good chance. Michigan State however has Tom Izzo and we know what he is capable of in the month of March. Michigan State probably finds a way to win this game but expect Maryland to keep it close. The Spartans are 3-9-1 ATS in their last 13 neutral site games and Terrapins are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games overall.

9:30 p.m. ET: Iowa State Cyclones (20-11) vs Texas Tech Red Raiders (23-8)

Spread: Texas Tech -7.5
Total: 126

The #14 Texas Tech Red Raiders take on the Iowa State Cyclones in the Big 12 Tournament. The Red Raiders went 18-0 at home this season and are second in the Big 12 at limiting opponent scoring, giving up only 60.7 points while holding opponents to 38.5% shooting. These teams meet for the 3rd time this season after Iowa State won 51-47 at home and then Texas Tech won 72-60 in the last matchup on Jan. 19 in Texas. The Cyclones enter on a two-game skid that came after a four-game winning streak and the Red Raiders have lost 2 of the last 3 games. Texas Tech ranks 52nd in offensive efficiency while Iowa State ranks 133rd in offensive efficiency according to KenPom Rankings. The biggest question for this game will be if McCullar is playing or not. Texas Tech has struggled without him but they have dominated with him. If McCullar is out for the Red Raiders the Cyclones will be able to stay in this game but if he is playing look for the Red Raiders to cover the spread.
