After an 11-game road trip, the Guardians return to Progressive Field for a 3-game series against the Diamondbacks. The Diamondbacks are making their first trip to Progressive Field since 2014 and will start right-hander Zach Davies (2-4, 3.94 ERA) who will make his first appearance since he was on the IL after his start against the Tigers on June 25. Davies is making his second career appearance against Cleveland after limiting them to one run over 5 1/3 innings on May 12, 2021. The Guardians will counter with right-hander Cal Quantrill (7-5, 3.97) after he allowed 6 runs in 5 1/3 innings against the Red Sox last week. Quantrill is 1-1 with a 6.00 ERA in 4 career games against Arizona. Arizona traded outfielder David Peralta to Tampa Bay on Saturday for catcher Christian Cerda and we could see more moves coming ahead of Tuesday’s trade deadline.

The Guardians Quantrill is 5-0 at home this season.

The Diamondbacks are 1-4 in the last 5 meetings in Cleveland.

The Guardians have won 4 of their last 6 games.

The Diamondbacks have lost 3 straight games and 6 of their last 7 road games.

The Dodgers and the Giants meet in a 4-game series starting Monday night in San Francisco. The Dodgers recently swept the Giants in L.A. and will look to add to their NL West lead. The rivals are separated by 17 1/2 games in the standings. The Dodgers will be starting left-hander Andrew Heaney (1-0, 0.47 ERA) who did not pitch for L.A. in the last series and has never faced the Giants as a member of the Dodgers. Heaney has made 3 starts against San Francisco in his career, going 1-2 with a 7.02 ERA. He faced the Giants twice last season as a member of the Angels. Heaney recently shut out the Washington Nationals over 4 innings allowing just 1 hit in a 7-1 win last week. The Giants will counter with right-hander Logan Webb (9-4, 2.91 ERA) and he gave up 4 runs in 6 1/3 innings in a 5-3 road loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks in his last outing. Webb has made 7 career starts against the Dodgers, going 1-2 with a 3.28 ERA.

The Dodgers are 7-1 in their last 8 road games.

The Giants are 0-4 in their last 4 Monday games.

The Dodgers are 4-0 in the last 4 meetings.

The Giants have lost 7 of their last 10 games.
