The Phillies hung on to win the series opener 7-6 on Tuesday and now will go to their ace Zack Wheeler to try to get another win against the Atlanta Braves when he starts Game 2 of the NLDS. Wheeler (0-0, 0.00 ERA postseason; 12-7, 2.82 ERA regular season) will go up against Atlanta’s Kyle Wright (2022 postseason debut; 21-5, 3.19 regular season) in Game 2 of the best-of-5 series. Wheeler helped Philadelphia beat St. Louis in Game 1 of the wild-card series by throwing 6 1/3 scoreless innings in his postseason debut. Wheeler made 3 starts against the Braves during the regular season and went 2-0 with a 2.70 ERA. He struck out 25 and walked only one in 20 innings. In 24 career starts against Atlanta, Wheeler is 10-7 with a 3.16 ERA. Wright only made 2 regular-season appearances for the Braves in 2021 but came back in 2022 to become the first Atlanta pitcher to win 20 games. Wright made 2 appearances in the 2021 World Series when he worked 1 scoreless inning in Game 2, which the Braves lost, and did a longer relief stint in Game 4, allowing one run in 4 2/3 innings in a game the Braves won. Wright made 3 starts against the Phillies this season and went 2-1 with a 2.84 ERA. He is 2-3 against them with a 3.86 ERA in 6 career appearances.

The Phillies are 4-11 in the last 15 meetings in Atlanta.

The Phillies are 2-5 in the last 7 meetings.

The Braves are 7-2 in their last 9 playoff home games.

The Braves are 42-13 in their last 55 home games.

10:00 PM Seattle Kraken @ Anaheim Ducks

Kraken: +105
Ducks
: -125
Total
: 5.5

The 2nd year for the Seattle Kraken begins when they play on the road against the host Anaheim Ducks. The Kraken went 27-49-6 (60 points) last season and finished last in the Pacific Division. Only the Arizona Coyotes and Montreal Canadiens were worse. Seattle improved its offense in the offseason by adding Andre Burakovsky, a free agent who won a Stanley Cup with Colorado last season, and Oliver Bjorkstrand, acquired in a salary dump by Columbus. Seattle will have a full season of Matty Beniers, the #2 overall pick in the 2021 draft who had 9 points in 10 games with the Kraken and this year’s #4 overall pick Shane Wright. The Ducks went 31-37-14 (76 points), finishing just ahead of the Kraken in the 8-team division and didn’t make the playoffs. Anaheim has plenty of young talent, with Trevor Zegras and Jamie Drysdale making impacts as rookies last season. Longtime captain Ryan Getzlaf retired and veterans such as Hampus Lindholm, Rickard Rakell and Josh Manson were sent packing at last season’s trade deadline.

🏒The Ducks are 1-5 in their last 6 vs. Pacific.

🏒The Ducks are 16-36 in their last 52 vs. Western Conference.

🏒The Ducks are 21-44 in their last 65 home games.

🏒The Over is 4-1 in Kraken last 5 road games.

The Bookie: Kraken +105
