March Madness College Basketball Betting Analysis for March 20th

6:10 p.m. ET: Iowa State Cyclones (21-12) vs Wisconsin Badgers (25-7)

Spread: Wisconsin -4.5
Total: 125.5

Iowa State started the season 12-0 but that was because of their 328th-ranked schedule, according to KenPom. After the Cyclones got into Big 12 play, winning got a lot more difficult. This season, Iowa State went 3-5 on neutral court games against NCAA Tournament opponents. The Cyclones lost 3 straight games before the NCAA Tournament. Iowa State has averaged 51 points over its last 4 games. Iowa State thrives off turnovers but Wisconsin doesn’t turn over the ball. The Badgers have a much more consistent offense with 3 reliable scorers led by Johnny Davis. The Cyclones are a terrible offensive team and will get exposed against an experienced Badgers team. Take the Badges to cover.

8:40 p.m. ET: Texas Longhorns (22-11) vs Purdue Boilermakers (28-7)

Spread: Purdue -3
Total: 134

The Boilermakers have had good teams for many years that have made it to the tournament but they don’t make it far. For some reason, Matt Painter has a tough time keeping his boys focused and motivated this time of year. Teams with great offenses and bad defenses tend to lose in March. Kenpom ranks the Boilermakers second in offensive efficiency and 90th in defensive efficiency. Purdue doesn’t play much defense and that will allow the Longhorns to perform where they struggle the most. With the way the Longhorn’s offense finished against Virginia Tech, these boys might be able to pull off the upset.  Virginia Tech is a solid defense team and they still were able to get it going. Take the Longhorns today.
