The Braves are going with Max Fried in Game 1 of the NLCS. He has been on a dominant run and already pitched 2 quality starts against the Dodgers this season. In the NLCS last season, Fried faced the Dodgers twice pitching a quality start in each outing. Max Scherzer is expected to start for the Dodgers. He pitched an inning against the Giants Thursday but that was his bullpen day. Fried has gone 7-0 with a 1.46 ERA over his final 11 regular season starts and followed that up with 6 shutout frames in the win over the Brewers in Game 2 of the NLDS.  While Scherzer’s use in Game 1 is likely, it is not official. He is 0-1 with a 1.46 ERA in 12 1/3 innings this postseason. The Dodgers offense has been inconsistent and Fried has been throwing well. With Atlanta playing at home with the Dodgers on short rest they have a good shot here to get the win. Look for the Braves and the Under in this one.
