College Basketball Betting Analysis for March 31st

7:00 p.m. ET: Xavier Musketeers (22-13) vs Texas A&M Aggies (27-12)

Spread: Texas A&M -4
Total: 137.5

These programs ended the season going in opposite directions as Xavier choked in the Big East Tournament in the first-round matchup with Butler. Texas A&M made it to the SEC Tournament title game before running out of gas against Tennessee.  Texas A&M is 12-2 since going on an 8 game losing streak and has won all four NIT games by at least 12 points including the 72-56 beating of Washington State Tuesday night. Xavier reached the finals with an 84-77 win over St. Bonaventure. The Musketeers got 18 points each from Jack Nunge, Adam Kunkel, and Zach Freemantle. Xavier improved to 3-0 under interim coach Jonas Hayes, who took over after Travis Steele was fired at the end of the season. Xavier has been winning games but they have been close calls especially since they lost Scruggs. Not having Scruggs for this game will be the difference-maker despite those wins. Texas A&M has covered the spread in 10 of the last 12 games and Xavier has gone just 6-15 against the spread over the last 2 months. Both teams have been scoring the ball but Texas A&M is averaging over 10 steals per game and plays much better defense. The Aggies will get the win here and should be able to cover the spread.
