The #24 Arizona Wildcats (11-3) are set to play the #9 Oregon Ducks (12-3) at the Matthew Knight Arena in Eugene, Oregon on Thursday at 9 pm EST. The Ducks dropped 5 spots in this week’s AP Top 25 after losing on the road to Colorado but came back with a victory at Utah in their last game. The Wildcats opened their Pac-12 season with a beat down over rival Arizona State after losing three of their final four non-conference games. These teams met twice last season with the Ducks winning both by scores of 54-59 and 73-47.

ARIZONA WILDCATS

The Arizona Wildcats are averaging 83 points per game on 49% field-goal shooting while adding seven three-pointers per game on offense. The Wildcats are allowing only 64 points per game on 36% field-goal shooting on the defensive end. Arizona is forcing 15.6 turnovers a game while adding 4.3 steals and 2.6 blocks on the defensive end.  The Wildcats are led by guard Nico Mannion who is averaging 14.4 points per game along with 6.3 assists and 1.1 steals. Big man Zeke Nnaji is averaging 16.6 points 8.1 rebounds 1.1 blocks and shooting a team-high  69% from the field.

OREGON DUCKS

The Oregon Ducks are averaging 78 points per game on 49% field-goal shooting while averaging 39% from three-point land and adding 8.3 three-pointers per game along with 9.7 offensive rebounds. The Ducks are allowing only 66 points per game on 38% field-goal shooting while forcing 12.8 turnovers and adding 4 steals and 3.5 blocks per game.  The Ducks are led by Payton Pritchard who is averaging 18.7 points 5.9 assists and 1.7 steals along with guards Duarte and Richardson are also averaging double figures. The Ducks are a guard-heavy team that lacks size and this is where they’re going to struggle against Arizona.

ARIZONA vs OREGON PREDICTION

Arizona has been struggling lately however they have also faced a lot of tough competition. Oregon will be without C. Walker which will give Arizona a rebounding edge. This game is going to come down to the last few possessions which will give Arizona the best chance to cover the spread and possibly win outright.  Both teams average around 80 PPG and given this O/U is set at only 143 that is a very low number for these 2 high powered offensive teams and if something seems too good to be true, it usually is in sports betting. Lean Arizona plus the number and the under in this matchup.
