The Wake Forest Demon Deacons hit the road for a clash with the Boston College Eagles.  Wake Forest finished last season with a record of (11-20). Boston College was a tad bit better on the season then Wake Forest, the Eagles were (14-17) a year ago. These two coaches Jim Christian and Danny Manning who could be playing for their jobs this season.

WAKE FOREST – Wake Forest only returns two of their top seven scorers from a year ago. Brandon Childress will take over as starting point guard after averaging 9.1 points, 3.6 assists, 2.7 rebounds and 1.0 steal’s as a sophomore. Chaundee Brown will be a sophomore this year after starting 29 games as a freshman. Olivier Sarr, Melo Eggleston, and Sunday Okeke are the only other returning contributors, none of which averaged more than four points per game. The key to Wake Forest’s success will be the production of their new players. The Demon Deacons could actually improve from last year and even make a push to the NCAA Tournament.

BOSTON COLLEGE – Boston College has multiple returning pieces from last season to help replace his production. Ky Bowman will be an All-ACC candidate as a junior after he averaged 17.6 points, 6.8 rebounds, 4.7 assists, and 1.5 steal as a sophomore. With Robinson gone, Bowman will be the driving force of the Eagles offense this year. Jordan Chatman also returns to the Boston College backcourt after averaging double-digits last season.  The Eagles have enough talent back to remain in the middle of the loaded ACC, but they will need improvement from their returning players to have a chance at getting to the NCAA Tournament.

Boston College’s home-court advantage along with its returning players gives them the edge in this game.  Considering BC won on the road in their matchup last year they have a good chance here at home to win again.  The big question for this game is going to be how the incoming Freshman impact this game.  Wake Forest has some talent that could shock some teams in the ACC this year.
