The New York Giants will host the Dallas Cowboys at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

In Week 1 of this season, Eli Manning faced the Cowboys in a 35-17 loss to the Cowboys, however, the Giants were also banged up coming out of their pre-season and were actually missing some key pieces on their defensive line.

The Cowboys defense is ranked 7th in the league only giving up an average of 17 points per game.  Dallas also has a far better record, a +66 point differential and are rested coming off a bye and won big in their previous game in a 37-10 blowout win over the Eagles at home.  On paper, this looks like an easy Cowboys win and cover.

The Giants new QB Daniel Jones will get his chance to try to pull off the upset in this game. Jones had 4 TD in his previous game. Saquon Barkley is back healthy for the Giants and should be ready to run all over Dallas. The Cowboys have been getting hammered on the ground in recent weeks.

This line opened with Dallas listed as a 7-point road favorite depending on the book. The public is pounding the Cowboys expecting another blowout like in Week 1. However, smart money is on the Giants and this influx of sharp action has caused the line to tumble down to 6.5.

Aside from smart money on their side, the Giants have additional value as a contrarian home dog in a heavily bet primetime game and also as a divisional dog (22-15 ATS, 59.5% this season).

The bye week could serve to disrupt any momentum that Dallas had after their win over the Eagles. The Giants managed to cover the spread on the road against the Lions last week, and Daniel Jones looked the best that he had in weeks. New York might be 2-6, but by trading away draft picks for defensive lineman Leonard Williams they just showed that they aren’t giving up on the season.
