The Houston Astro’s head to Washington for Game 3 of the World Series where the Nationals lead the series 2-0.   Houston opened up favorites at -120/+110, 8O/U and has been hit by the sharp bettors to move it close to -135.  The total at 8 has also been getting hit by the public with no budge yet. Keep an eye on the late line movements.

Tonight’s pitching match up will be Houston’s Zack Greinke(R) 8-3,  3.99 ERA   (6.43 ERA Last 3 Games) against Washington’s Anibal Sanchez(R)12-8, 3.68 ERA  (1.37 ERA Last 3 Games)

Astro’s hit a combined .268 verses right handed pitching and the Nationals hit a .255 on the year against righties.

Offensive momentum will be the determining factor for Washington to have a chance in this game and try to take advantage of Zack Greinke’s struggles in the playoffs.  After their first 2 losses, especially the brutal loss in game 2 from 1 bad inning, this Houston team will be looking to rebound with a lot of offensive power.  Houston has experience against Sanchez with George Springer leading the way with a career .600 AVG. Jose Altuve with a .364, Michael Brantley with a career .300 AVG, and the entire Houston team carries a .333 average in their lifetime against Sanchez.

Washington has had a lot of success against Greinke batting a team average of .262 but the key factors to the game will be in the players that have not had much success against him.  Rendon has only 1 hit in 12 AB’s. Adams, only 3 hits in 23 AB’s. Turner with only 1 hit in 6 at bats.  Robles with 0 hits in his 2 AB’s and Juan Soto with 0 hits in his 3 AB’s.   That could be a major problem for Washington tonight if Greinke has them figured out.

Anything can happen in the playoffs but most people would expect Houston to perform as they did the entire year but it is hard to stop momentum and a team that has now won 8 in a row.

Common sense of the numbers point to the over and Houston to rebound here with a lot of run production against Sanchez however he has been throwing lights out in the playoffs thus far and the line has not budged yet from 8 with the public hitting all over it.  Look for Houston to score early and often in this game and for Washington try to keep up.
